Debi Taylor

Debi grew up on a 300-acre girl scout camp, instilling in her a love for nature, animals, and the environment. She joined one of Grand Rapids' oldest family-owned landscape design and garden centers, quickly advancing her career from garden sales to managing complex landscape installations. Debi also obtained her certification as a Green Industry Professional through the Michigan Nursery and Landscape Association, attending various industry conferences and training programs to expand her knowledge and skills.

Her talent and hard work led to an offer from a landscape firm whose owner had played a key role in designing the renowned Fredrik Meijer Garden and Sculpture Park. Working there allowed Debi to gain valuable insights into key aspects of design, installation, and software, setting her up for continued success in her career.

Committed to continuous learning and development, particularly in areas such as design, sustainability, hardscaping, irrigation, and lighting, Debi founded Design Natura LLC ("design by nature").

Debi takes a collaborative approach to design, believing in the importance of listening intently to client needs and desires while incorporating the expertise of multiple installation teams and other professionals to achieve outstanding and unique results whether it's for their home or business.

 

When not working, Debi enjoys spending time with her family and beloved Berne doodle Raven, tending to her own landscaping, fly fishing, great cigars and bourbon, cooking, traveling, and playing cards with friends.
